First 5K MUD RUN!

OK So I wanted to take my camera with, but since we were going through MUD and OBSTACLES I decided to leave it with our cheerleader!

ü  MUD BATH 1First mud of the RUN! WHOo
ü  TAN LINES (8ft or 10ft fence gate) 8ft was better for me
ü  HOT MESS (100m through potamac river) YES THE POTOMAC! It took us 10 minutes to get out, the incline was SOOOoo muddy you kept running in place.  We kept sliding down back into the water!
ü  4 INCLINES (different heights, jump off)
ü  MANI PEDI (Over gate, under gate X4)
ü  BAD HAIR DAY (get through 100 tangled wires)
ü  HILL KILL!! That as attempted murder!
ü  Tire'd (hop through tires)
ü  OVER IT (4ft, 8ft, 10ft walls)
ü  BALANCE BEAMS couldn’t be a gymnst, I froze on the decline part.

SO After A VERRRRRRY LOOOOOONG TIme and struggle with sweat blood and tears we were able to get a couple of pics at the end of the race.

Why I don't post often. IDK
I think about alot of ideas to write about. But I never get them down. I really need to do my recap on my first 5K that just so happen to be a MUD RUN! Its been over 1 week. I will do it very soon. Until then

Goals and More

1. Brag about some of your daily, healthy habits.  I haven’t had ice cream or cookies for 2 months now. I drink more than enough water a day.
 2. Do you track your daily food intake? If so, how? I just started in June writing down everything. It gets very annoying sometimes. I just started WW in July. Even MORE frustrating but if It work s always willing to try. Track, Track, Track ! BLAH!
 3. What do you want to change most about your daily routine?  Eating around the same times everyday would help with me feeling extremely hungry and wanting to eat bad things .
4. How often do you exercise?  Minimum of 3 days a week. Trying to get to 5 then eventually 7 with 2 days low intensity work outs.
5. How do you stay on track when you’re on the go? Sadly, I don’t. I’m still a beginner. It is what it is most of the time.  Low carbs and no junk mainly.
6. What’s one excuse you use that prevents you from reaching your goals?  I always lose track toward the end of the week. I say well you’ll start clean on Monday, or next Monday, or the Monday after that. I need to be done with excuses! PERIOD
7. What scares your most about your journey? No /very slow results.  Which is probably why I keep stoping and going back to my old ways.
8. What do you think will change most when you reach your goal? (If you have reached it, what’s different?)  Debut! More shopping, and going out and being more spontaneous.
9. What motivates you to reach your goals?  My first big goal is lose 60 lbs by Nov 10. We are taking a family cruise and in order to participate in the extreme sports excursion you have to weigh a certain amount. I am 60 lbs over that limit so that’s what keeping me going for now! I WILL GO ZIP LINING AND MOTOR FLOAT BOAT. I MUST!
10. Share a few of your goals.  Week to Week goals
·         Do not use my weekly points from WW
·         Lose my first 5%
·         Wog  60 MI /30 days
·         Start WW meetings in September
·         Find a groove for updating my blog
·         Lose 60 lbs by Nov 10 (not extremely healthy but it’s a must)

What is your favorite way to spend a Sunday afternoon? After work take a walk on this beautiful relaxing trail. Then go to my BF house to for Sunday dinner on the nights she cook Jamaican Beans and Rice w/ curry chicken, my favorite dish that his mom makes. YUM YUM!

Why am I so damn hungry. 
I have been on Weight Watchers for a week now. I am doing good this week. (Its only Tuesday). For whatever reason. 

Yesterday I was fine except towards the end of the night, I had no points so I ate a clementine and went to bed about hr later. 
Today just seems like I havent eaten anything all day. 
I can really eat that much right now!! 
I just needed to vent. But I dont know why I dont feel full after I eat. Its proably just one of those days that you go through, the body is adjusting or something. IT NEEDS TO ADJUST FAST, BECUASE THIS FEELING SUCKS!. I have some points left before the day is over with. Try to use them wisely.

Babbling Bree

I am officially a Weight Watchers Member. OMG! I signed up last Tuesday. Yeah I should have been posted this. SORRY!. I'm super excited about this right turn I took on the long journey to my weight loss. I'm only doing online, so its a little hard to understand how to calculate everything. I do have a starters kit that was given to me ummm... OCTOBER. Yeah! I wasn't ready at the time to use it, and now I am. It helps, but its nothing like someone actually explaining everything to you. Everything isn't always handed to you, OBVIOUSLY!. But yes, skinnyme_bree is my weight watchers name, I haven't got fully involved in website, I've been really busy, but
I'm excited!!

I feel alot of pressure for whatever reason that I should be blogging everyday. :/
OMG, yes I admire all the people who find time to blog everyday of there life. I appreciate it because It gives me things to ready, learn, and do. BUT DAMN, everyday blogging is not for ME!. I think once I get into a routine with my daily life maybe I can squeeze it in everyday. I dont know but for now I have to think about the days I want to post and have a routine or something. Maybe I can start doing more picture post, instead, I like to read those more then actual words. IDK
I enjoy sharing but EVERYDAY. I'll pass for now

I'm really excited now because I feel better when im wogging, and actually tracked my distance for the first time on this new app and I usually go about 3 miles. So I know I will make it through! How am I doing? Not so well.  I have been swallowed up by a swirl of monster goodies and junk food. Last I mentioned I was about to join weight watchers. Yes indeed but not until next week. I have to get some things together, but until then I know I should be watching what I eat, and exercising but I’m not.

I'm kinda falling back into this I don’t care mode, which is 2 left turns away from FAILURE! I have mixed emotions right now, about my weight, and my appearance.

I sit at my desk and love reading everyone’s success stories, and wish that I was in those before and after pictures. I understand its hard work, but sometime I just want it to be me. I think I’m a little selfish but that’s that truth.

I hope to find a clear mind again before I start this WW so that I keep on the right track. I know it will be hard, but I wish my time to be happy with my weight was here. But it’s not so I’ll try and be Patient!

-Hopefully I’ll be at someones pool, eating some good (healthy) cookout food.

-Umm, does jello shots count. We made some strawberry and lime jello with watermelon vodka. They were ok, but since we were on the beach (Ocean City) it made them even better.

- I would go to Australia. No specific reason, just because!

- See during the semester my head is stuck in so many books. When you’re a nursing student you never have time to relax. SOoo What am I reading. NOTHING. First time I’ve had summer without being stressed out, so I’m chillin, relaxin, and working on my health and weight loss.

-Nothing to look forward to this week. But Next Saturday is a party, but it’s a surprise so NO details. But yeah!

I want to eat WHATEVER!

I want to eat WHATEVER the hell I WANT! Not really, but having super-dooper extensive restrictions SUCKS!! Here are some updates from my past few weeks.

Ohh the end of week 3 and the start of week 4. I’m so over this challenge. I’m not giving up, Its just that I  tried it and its just not for me.

Weigh in Monday BLAH. I gained 5.4lbs 5.4 5.4 I don’t want to get down on myself but shit, that’s 5.4 lbs. Soon I will tell you my offical start weight and goal weight and all that good stuff. I dont feel  comfortable YET. 
I stop food logging. WHY?
1.       It boring, I eat the same stuff over and over again
2.       It takes time, I just want to eat my food
3.       I don’t feel like doing it, JUST LAZY

This probably why I gained weight. Maybe? Maybe not, I ‘m not sure all I know is that I need to do everything that helps me. I guess im going to have to get over it and start up again. IDK


So I visited my doctor recently and she suggested Weight Watchers. Yes there is numerous research that says this is the best lifestyle changer , It teaches how to eat and cook for yourself, and choose the right foods, and understand the consequences of eating badly and rewarding yourself for eating well. (PLUS exercise of course)

Everyone raving about WW, I have physical proof from a family member, and plenty of bloggers have been on WW. (Amazing before and after pictures) I’m not against it in anyway, its just seems like a lot of work. I’m use to having everything handed to me, meals already made from the start to the finish of the diet. That’s the big problem, DIET. if I keep depending on different DIETS to supply me with everything, when it’s over (usually about 2 weeks), I never know how to feed myself, and that’s when all the weight comes back on.  UhHUH


It seems like so much effort
Awhile back I had lost 20 lbs in one month when I was on a mock WW. My aunt (WW member amazing results) helped me to calculate my daily points, I logged in my own journal, and weighed in at her house. This one month gave me a good start, but then I stopped and gained the weight back plus more. Anyways I know It will work if I stick to it.  Stick to it like glue!


One thing I am keeping up with is my exercise routine. I have been keeping up with the gym, 3x a wk and wogging (walk/jogging) 2x a wk. Its been good, I feel it getting easier, I run more each day, and im not as sore as I use to be. I guess that means PUMP it UP MORE!!! My first 5k is coming up and SUPER EXCITED about that!

But that’s all the news for now. I will try to stay LOW carb NO sugar for the last week of the challenge and then WW will start soon.

PS. I’m trying to get a signature for my post, I need to learn Photoshop or something easy so I can have cool signature like a lot of ppl. I will figure it out. If you have any advice PLEASE HELP

Weigh in Monday

Yes today is Monday, which means time to weigh in. 
And the magic number is???
 I GAINED 5.4 lbs. 
That’s right 5.4, 5.4, 5.4. 
Awwwww, I don’t want to get down on myself but shit, that’s 5.4 lbs. 
I suppose to be making the scale go down not up. 
This is the end of week 3 and I will admit, I really wasn’t completely faithful to 
But its not like I went and binged on some cookies, and cakes, and ice cream. I had a little rice one night, 1 hotdog with a bun at the movies, and some trailmix which had peanuts, cashews, almonds, raisins, and m&m throughout the week. Everything else has been veggies and proteins and fruits and WATER.

Will I Make it?

SO I finally signed up for my frist 5K
I'm not sure if running will be my fitness niche, but I surely am excited because it is a MUD RUN. Thats right spend a fun day running through mud, around mud, and under mud.

I have been exercising and doing fitness activites, but I cant even run an entire mile :(
Yesterday, I did 1/2 mi without stopping. Thats something but not 3miles.
As of today I have about 30 days attempt to run 3 miles. 
I'm still excited because you can walk, there are optional obstacles, but most of all its about trying to stay active and have fun. 
OH Yeah all proceeds do go to the Lymphoma and Leukemia research, which makes more of a reason to participate. 

P.S. If you are in the area it would be great to sign up and try something NEW and UNCOMFORTABLE for a chance.

Making Progress

Week 2 is coming to an end. I am so proud of myself. I don't think I have ever stayed on a diet, streak, or anything without messing up or giving up. Not saying I haven't slipped up, but I recognize that, work out a little harder and try to do better next time. There is something in me that is keeping me going.

It hasn't been the easiest journey, but im working with what I got, and I'm doing pretty good. I am getting a little scared since im half way through the 30 days, I'm not sure how im going to transition to eating carbs again. I know I have to eat them, but that is what caused me to get to this point. I'm scared that I may binge, or wont have portion control because I love rice, and pasta so much. No one wants to take steps backwards, so Im already thinking of a plan once my 30 days are over. I know 30 days is just for the challenge but im on this weight loss journey and healthy lifestyle transition to the end.

Umm yeah. I've been reading some ALOT of different blogs, from wt loss, to healthy eating, to runners and bikers blogs. I love them so much because they motivate you, and assist you in some questions you may have, ALL FOR FREE. THANKSSSSS!!.

 So most people have a goal, whether it be in lbs, inches or miles, there is some type of goal set.
Your life will never be the same once you reach this point. 
You become elated, and so many emotions run through your body you cant explain it. 
You've reached a point of no return, so proud of your self, no one can destroy that. 

Milestones/Short term goals different intervals set to making reaching you ultimate goal. When you reach them, it motivates you to keep going. Knowing that your almost their. Your mind, and body seem to want to work together to make a better you.

 I don't have any set goals :(    I think that will be my mission for this weekend.

 To come up with a set of goals, and rewards for your journey.

(The hardest part for me is that I eat the samethings all the time. 
If you look at my food log there really isn't that much variety.)
