I want to eat WHATEVER!

I want to eat WHATEVER the hell I WANT! Not really, but having super-dooper extensive restrictions SUCKS!! Here are some updates from my past few weeks.

Ohh the end of week 3 and the start of week 4. I’m so over this challenge. I’m not giving up, Its just that I  tried it and its just not for me.

Weigh in Monday BLAH. I gained 5.4lbs 5.4 5.4 I don’t want to get down on myself but shit, that’s 5.4 lbs. Soon I will tell you my offical start weight and goal weight and all that good stuff. I dont feel  comfortable YET. 
I stop food logging. WHY?
1.       It boring, I eat the same stuff over and over again
2.       It takes time, I just want to eat my food
3.       I don’t feel like doing it, JUST LAZY

This probably why I gained weight. Maybe? Maybe not, I ‘m not sure all I know is that I need to do everything that helps me. I guess im going to have to get over it and start up again. IDK


So I visited my doctor recently and she suggested Weight Watchers. Yes there is numerous research that says this is the best lifestyle changer , It teaches how to eat and cook for yourself, and choose the right foods, and understand the consequences of eating badly and rewarding yourself for eating well. (PLUS exercise of course)

Everyone raving about WW, I have physical proof from a family member, and plenty of bloggers have been on WW. (Amazing before and after pictures) I’m not against it in anyway, its just seems like a lot of work. I’m use to having everything handed to me, meals already made from the start to the finish of the diet. That’s the big problem, DIET. if I keep depending on different DIETS to supply me with everything, when it’s over (usually about 2 weeks), I never know how to feed myself, and that’s when all the weight comes back on.  UhHUH


It seems like so much effort
Awhile back I had lost 20 lbs in one month when I was on a mock WW. My aunt (WW member amazing results) helped me to calculate my daily points, I logged in my own journal, and weighed in at her house. This one month gave me a good start, but then I stopped and gained the weight back plus more. Anyways I know It will work if I stick to it.  Stick to it like glue!


One thing I am keeping up with is my exercise routine. I have been keeping up with the gym, 3x a wk and wogging (walk/jogging) 2x a wk. Its been good, I feel it getting easier, I run more each day, and im not as sore as I use to be. I guess that means PUMP it UP MORE!!! My first 5k is coming up and SUPER EXCITED about that!

But that’s all the news for now. I will try to stay LOW carb NO sugar for the last week of the challenge and then WW will start soon.

PS. I’m trying to get a signature for my post, I need to learn Photoshop or something easy so I can have cool signature like a lot of ppl. I will figure it out. If you have any advice PLEASE HELP

Weigh in Monday

Yes today is Monday, which means time to weigh in. 
And the magic number is???
 I GAINED 5.4 lbs. 
That’s right 5.4, 5.4, 5.4. 
Awwwww, I don’t want to get down on myself but shit, that’s 5.4 lbs. 
I suppose to be making the scale go down not up. 
This is the end of week 3 and I will admit, I really wasn’t completely faithful to 
But its not like I went and binged on some cookies, and cakes, and ice cream. I had a little rice one night, 1 hotdog with a bun at the movies, and some trailmix which had peanuts, cashews, almonds, raisins, and m&m throughout the week. Everything else has been veggies and proteins and fruits and WATER.

Will I Make it?

SO I finally signed up for my frist 5K
I'm not sure if running will be my fitness niche, but I surely am excited because it is a MUD RUN. Thats right spend a fun day running through mud, around mud, and under mud.

Will I HOLD UP???
I have been exercising and doing fitness activites, but I cant even run an entire mile :(
Yesterday, I did 1/2 mi without stopping. Thats something but not 3miles.
As of today I have about 30 days attempt to run 3 miles. 
I'm still excited because you can walk, there are optional obstacles, but most of all its about trying to stay active and have fun. 
OH Yeah all proceeds do go to the Lymphoma and Leukemia research, which makes more of a reason to participate. 

P.S. If you are in the area it would be great to sign up and try something NEW and UNCOMFORTABLE for a chance.

Making Progress

Week 2 is coming to an end. I am so proud of myself. I don't think I have ever stayed on a diet, streak, or anything without messing up or giving up. Not saying I haven't slipped up, but I recognize that, work out a little harder and try to do better next time. There is something in me that is keeping me going.

It hasn't been the easiest journey, but im working with what I got, and I'm doing pretty good. I am getting a little scared since im half way through the 30 days, I'm not sure how im going to transition to eating carbs again. I know I have to eat them, but that is what caused me to get to this point. I'm scared that I may binge, or wont have portion control because I love rice, and pasta so much. No one wants to take steps backwards, so Im already thinking of a plan once my 30 days are over. I know 30 days is just for the challenge but im on this weight loss journey and healthy lifestyle transition to the end.

Umm yeah. I've been reading some ALOT of different blogs, from wt loss, to healthy eating, to runners and bikers blogs. I love them so much because they motivate you, and assist you in some questions you may have, ALL FOR FREE. THANKSSSSS!!.

 So most people have a goal, whether it be in lbs, inches or miles, there is some type of goal set.
Your life will never be the same once you reach this point. 
You become elated, and so many emotions run through your body you cant explain it. 
You've reached a point of no return, so proud of your self, no one can destroy that. 

Milestones/Short term goals different intervals set to making reaching you ultimate goal. When you reach them, it motivates you to keep going. Knowing that your almost their. Your mind, and body seem to want to work together to make a better you.

 I don't have any set goals :(    I think that will be my mission for this weekend.

 To come up with a set of goals, and rewards for your journey.

(The hardest part for me is that I eat the samethings all the time. 
If you look at my food log there really isn't that much variety.)

Meatballs w/ broccolli & sweet potato chips (homemade)
2 pieces baked chicken, w/ peas and baked sweet potato

Oatmal w/ PeanutButter, strawberries, cinnamon

Scramble eggs w/ spinach, mushroom, and salsa 2 turkey patties
Baked Fish w/ collard greens

FMM: Bedroom Habits

1. Do you set an alarm clock? If so, for what time?
Yes, its set to 7:00. Do I wake up? NO, more like 7:30am when I have to.
2. How many hours of sleep do you get on an average night?  
10 hr during summer, school in session give or take 5 (nursing student)
3. Do you bring your laptop to bed? 
4. How many pillows do you require to sleep? 
8 on the bed, and move through all of them during the night
5. Do you sleep with socks on?

Every 2 weeks (is that bad?)

When they wake me up,YES.

F U Cravings

I never use to like ice cream that much. I've always been a cake, cookie girl. But when I started getting stressed and felt very low during the past couple of years, like most people I went to ICE CREAM. Thats right, the best flavor in the world is Cookies & Cream, ( no particular brand). Now although I did go to ice cream for comfort, I didnt sit and eat the entire pint, or quart, or gallon in one sitting, but I craved it, and I ate it, and it was delicious. 

Right now I am on a 30 day challenge and basically its not sugar, no carbs for the most part. So guess what NO ICE CREAM!! Its been a week and I've been doing well, but sometime you just have that craving. Its kinda like losing a friend that you know never benefit you, but due time you begin to miss, and yearn for that friend again just because they used to be there, yep thats how I was feeling about ice cream. 

Well Saturday (day 6) was the hardest day for me thus for. First I get to work, and thru out the day I glady have a fresh salad, some chill and I'm filling great. Then I go in the freezer to put a bottle of water in there, and love and behold, my cookies and cream ICE CREAM (from about a week ago) just sitting there calling, screaming my name. I shut the door so fast, I was so tempted to go in there and gooble it down, mainly because I saw it, it was there, and it was mine, and no one was around. Well I didn't, I focused on my work and by the time it hit  5:00 I didnt fully forget about it but I fought that awful craving.

 So I get home to an empty house, great ill just go play the SIMS ( lovie). Then I hear a knock on the door, and my siblings come through the door, yes happy to see them , NOT REALLY! Why? Because they walk in with what i had been fighting all day, COLD STONE ICE CREAM ( one of the best ice cream parlors EVER). I was very upset, not that they had it, but because I couldn't indulge in that tasty smoothie (made w/ ice cream) and cookie and cream cup. SUPER :( . So I got down stairs and continue playing the Sims. after a while the craving came back, I go to the freezer and stare at the left over ice cream. I must have stood there for about 5 minutes thinking about if I should eat it or not. I held it in my hand, twirled it around, and that butterfly on my shoulder said, F U CRAVING!. Thats right I put it back in the fridge and slammed the door. I knew that I shoudlnt have it, I was doing fine as long as I didnt see it, so why spoil my great week with this one bad craving that seem to be taking over me. I had won the battle, me versus ice cream round 1, ME! Now I know it was round 1 because I'm pretty sure it will happen again, But Im ready to FIGHT. So to ease off that moment, I made me a fresh smoothie instead. No its not ice cream, but Its fresh fruit that I can have. 

Sunday I arrive at the office, only to see this pint of ice cream again, torturing me, and tempeting me to eat it. Well I finally said to the ice cream. F U! I DONT NEED YOU! YOU DO ME NO GOOD! And the rest is for you to see...

I don' t need this. 

Drown! You sucker!

Yes, I know this is the right thing


Im on a mission, to be the best ME there is, and right now ice cream is not on my team!

Cook @ Home Challenge

I just joined this new challenge.

To cook 5 meals at home per week for the next 4 weeks.
Each week post a pic of the 5 meals

This will be fun! I have stopped eating out as much as possible. I'm starting to cook alot more, and experiment with different recipes. So I will prove to my self that I can do it.

I am on a 30 day challenge with mo mother and her friend. We are having a contest of who can lose the most weight, since there is no set weight amount you can lose. It starts today, June 4. I'm excited but nervous at the same time. Today wasn't the ideal day because I didn't have any meals prepared. So I ate out, but I made healthy choices.

I will update everyday, put my meals in the Yummy/yuck section (food log) , and weigh in (Oh Soo Many lbs) every monday. This should be interesting.

Amateur Grocery Shoppers

Today I went grocery shopping with my mother, because today is the DAY 1 of our 30 day challenge. That will be in a later post . Anyways a couple of funny things happened while we were there. We had fun in the produce section because alot of the things we eat are NEVER from that area of the store. Prime example.
What the hell is this?

 There was no label, no tag and no name on the price label. OK This looks like something that will come alive and eat me. YUCK. Someone please tell me what this is?

Mom: I don't see any sweet potatoes
Me: Here they are
Mom: Those aren't it, those are Yams
Me: I believe they are the same thing
Mom: I dont think so
Me: Ok lets call Yana(vegetarian cousin)
Me: I knew that, told u mommy :)

Yes, Yams and sweet potatoes are the same things. But growing up, yams were the chopped up orange potatos, layered with cinnamon, sugar, and marshmallows for Thanksgiving. Sweet Potatoes  were the organge potatos the my cousin ate with plain butter and looked disgusting with no taste. But now we know, the plain unjustifibel taste its worth a try, and their "suppose to be good for you", so what the heck, lets try them.

So we get home and  my brother is putting away all the food and he comes across a bag filled with these:

Brother: What the heck is this
Me: Whats what?
Brother: Did we get a bird that I dont know about?
Me: What are you talking about?
Brother: Look! Bird seeds. Flax-a-seed (Flax Seeds)
Me: lls, no we didnt get a bird, thats to go in smoothies and oatmeal
Mom: Yeah she tryna feed us like one 
Brother: Right 

This journey is going to be interesting more so because we are learning about alot of new produce and foods that we knew nothing about. We are learning to eat healthier, so that we can eat more, and have control over what goes in our mouths.

Y Now??

To say that I am ready is a little scary. . Right now couldn't be a better time in my life to make this dramatic change, and start this much needed journey. I know its going to be hard, but i feel Im ready.

OMG. 1st Post

This is my first post. I've never done this before except like FB of course. I'm just testing things out seeing how everything works.
 Today will the start of the rest of my new found life. I am on a mission to become a healthier person and lose some of this extra baggage I've been caring around. This blog is not only to share my journey with others but to help me stay on track and honest with my self. More to come.
